Council Chief Executive Leaving For New Challenges
Sandwell Council's chief executive Dr Allison Fraser is leaving the authority to pursue new challenges.
After being at the helm for four years, during which time she has led a massive transformation programme at the council, she said she felt the time was right to move on.
Council leader Councillor Darren Cooper said: "I am sorry to see Allison leave. Her commitment to the authority and the people of Sandwell has been excellent.
"She has brought real improvements to many of the authority's services which have received national recognition."
Residents in Sandwell were assured today (thurs) that plans to keep waste collections going in the borough are on course.
Collections were made yesterday from the vast majority of around 25,000 households due to have their weekly domestic waste collection -- despite a work-to-rule by binmen.

Residents should check their doormat for their Household Registration form. The registration forms, which are currently being sent out to homes in the borough, allow people to register to vote.
