Sheepwash is situated in Great Bridge, Tipton and is one of a number of Local Nature Reserves (LNR) in the Sandwell area and is 91 acres in size. Three quarters of the site was originally used for waste disposal refuge but was reclaimed in the 1980's and has now been beautifully restored.
The site is looked after by Sandwell MBC and BTCV who carry out conservation activities.

Wildlife on Site
In addition to a balancing lake for the River Tame, which supports waders and wildfowl, there are large areas of maturing woodland, grassland pools and marshes, which provide a home to a variety of small mammels and amphibians. Locally rare plants such as Snakeshead Fritillary, Cowslips and Yellow Bartsia have also been recorded.

Location
Sheepwash LNR is on Sheepwash Lane (B4166), Great Bridge, Tipton. The two main entrances are on Sheepwash Lane, Great Bridge and at the end of John's Lane near Dudley Port.
Parking
There is very limited roadside parking at the entrance of Sheepwash Lane with some additional parking in Anne Close. Parking is not recommended in at the entrance on Johns Lane.

A number of buses pass within walking distance of the reserve's entrance. Contact Centro for further details on 0870 608 2 608.
Disabled Access
There are a number of footpaths across the site, although many are uneven and are on slopes.
Opening
The site is open the public every day of the year.
Cycling
Although the council supports cycling as a means of transport, in order to offer as much as protection to the site as possible, cycling is not permitted on the reserve.
