The problems of road traffic growth are all too evident. It is having a damaging effect on the economy (e.g. traffic jams), environment (e.g. climate change) and public health (e.g. asthma), but small changes in travel behaviour by individuals and organisations can help to alleviate these problems.
Through the TravelWise campaign, local authorities in the Midlands and across the country actively encourage sensible car use and promote alternative modes of travel, which are cheaper, healthier and more environmentally friendly.
