What Service Do You Provide?
Working fom a multi-disciplinary office in Cradley Heath, the architect's unit has developed a diverse portfolio of work borough-wide. A well established service, we endeavour to produce imaginative, innovative and sustainable solutions.
From small projects; "a new reception desk" to large; "a masterplanning exercise for a whole neighbourhood" we provide a practical approach that embraces the needs of community and the promotion of civic pride.
The Urban Design Architects' Unit is a team of 22 professionals capable of (in collaboration with other disciplines) delivering a variety of project solutions.
The team of Architects and Architectural Technologists provide the following specialist services:
- Architectural/Technical delivery.
- Planning Supervision/Health and Safety administration.
- Clerk of Works/Site supervision.
- Technical support.
We can provide a range of architectural services, including:
- Feasibility studies.
- Concept design.
- 3D modelling and visualisations.
- Production information/Work drawings.
- CDM/Planning Supervisor duties.
- Building contract administration (including site supervision).
- Project Management - including the appointment of external consultants as required
We are commissioned by a range of clients both internal and external to the Council, including amongst others:

- Major new build special schools and replacement of temporary and poor accommodation.
- Major alteration and extension work to schools establishments.
- Internal refurbishment to satisfy changing curricula requirements including IT.

Leisure Direct
- Refurbishment and alterations to existing Leisure Establishments.
- Specialist work to heritage or listed buildings within the Borough.

- Alteration and refurbishment of Resource Centres to satisfy current registration requirements.
- Alterations and extensions to satisfy specialist requirements for the elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged.
- New build replacement Childrens Homes.
Corporate Property
- Refurbishment and alteration of the Council Office Accommodation to current requirements and legislation.
- Minor alterations and refurbishment to office accommodation.
- Work to specialist heritage buildings such as Haden Hill House
Housing (High Rise)
- Extensive refurbishment programme
- Master planning projects
Various Sure Start programmes across the Borough
West Midlands Fire Service
- Major new build Fire Stations and Training Establishments through the West Midlands Fire Service area.
- Alterations, extensions, and refurbishment of establishments to meet operation needs and changing legislation.
- Minor works to all West Midlands Fire Service establishments.
