Sandwell Adult and Family Learning Service Service offers basic English and Maths courses for adults who would like to improve their reading, writing and spelling or brush up on their maths, such as handling money, decimals, percentages or fractions. These courses can help you in your everyday life, at work or at home, if you wish to return to work or help your children with their homework.

Do you need English or Maths qualifications to move on?

We offer FREE entry to learners who wish to obtain National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy at levels 1 and 2.

Fees

There are no tuition fees for any of our basic English or Maths programmes.

Courses

We offer a number of different times to study. You can choose from morning, afternoon or evening classes. Courses may include communication skills, basic maths, basic computing and general study skills. So come along and have a go!

Family Learning

A wide range of courses are supported wider family learning and include:

  • Family Swimming
  • Family Drama
  • Family Music Sessions
  • Family Story Sacks
  • Family Arts and Creative crafts
  • Money Matters
  • Community Languages

We also put on courses with embedded skills for life, which can be bespoke by consultation with the relevant curriculum managers. A number of successful, professional and collaborative relationships have been established in the field of family learning.
