Training for Sandwell School Governors
The service includes a termly training programme and newsletter, whole governing body sessions and ASGB/Link governor forums which are planned specifically to keep governors up-to-date and respond to training and development needs.
Focussed programmes can also be designed to address issues related to the effectiveness of the Governing Body, Leadership and Management as a result of Ofsted Inspections.
Briefing meetings and literature, a Governance Helpline and consultations all contribute to ensuring governors in Sandwell have access to valued information and services to assist and give them confidence in carrying out their role of being major stakeholders in continuous school improvement.
To assist Governors in Sandwell the LA has set up this Governor Training Website which gives existing Governors access to the Governor Training Calendar Online and the Online Booking Form, as well as the chance to provide feedback on courses which they have attended and comments on this Website.
Access to these areas are restricted by a Username and Password.

Sandwell Governor Services are pleased to announce the addition of a new online training resource.
The training package is tailored to you as a school governor and allows you the flexibility to access training and resources relevant to your role at any time convenient to you.
It offers various learning modules that are updated and added to at regular intervals.
The resource is FREE for school governors whose governing body subscribe to our training services. Schools that do not subscribe can purchase the e-learning package from Governor Services.
