Introduction
There are numerous examples of effective practice and innovative work throughout Sandwell schools, Children & Young People's Services – as reflected in the continuous improvement of standards and the large number of educational settings gaining national recognition.

Purpose
The purpose of the strategy is to provide a structure for and outline the mechanisms whereby, effective practice can be drawn together and disseminated to the benefit of all. It supports the Standards Agenda Ofsted TDA, QCA and ECM (Enjoy and Achieve).

Definition
Effective practice is taken to mean practice that is professionally recognised, to be highly effective and beneficial.
