All New students must provide an Original Valid Passport and must note the following;
If you want to have your passport returned by post you must send it with a recorded delivery slip with the full postage paid. You can obtain the slip from your local post office.
If you do not provide the appropriate recorded delivery slip you will be required to collect your original passport from the Sandwell Student Finance Department or alternatively it may be returned by normal postage mail.
Students without a Valid Passport - Birth Certificates
All New students who do not own a valid passport can provide an ‘Original Birth Certificate’. However students are required to have completed the Birth/Adoption Certificate Form. This form has to be completed by you, and more importantly a professional person such as a Doctor, Teacher, Solicitor, etc.
Evidence of Income
All New students applying for the ‘Income Assessed’ student finance (based on parental or spouse income) must provide evidence of their income received from the previous tax year. For example, if your parent or spouse are in receipt of income from employment they must provide a copy of their P60 for the tax year ending 2007, or alternatively can provide a copy of their final payslip (week 52 or month 12) received in March 2007. If they have not received their P60, they can have Confirmation of Income Academic Year 2007/2008 (C12) form completed by their employer.
