Drug Education, Counselling and Confidential Advice

 

DECCA (Drug Education, Counselling and Confidential Advice) Team is the Sandwell young peoples drug service. This includes provision for drug, alcohol and tobacco education for children and young people and those who work with them.

Services include educational programmes for schools and agencies/ organisations engaging with children and young people. Policy guidance for schools, services for disaffected/vulnerable/at risk young people, targeted intervention work and a treatment service. DECCA receive referrals from agencies/ organisations, professionals parents/carers and young people themselves.

All young people referred into the service are assessed and assigned an appropriate worker either treatment or education. The treatment workers work with those young people (aged 18 or under) who have been assessed as having a drug (including alcohol) problem or issue.

Helplines and Support

Both DECCA and Sandwell Stop Smoking Service can help you to give up smoking and can also supply Nicotine patches and gum, if necessary.
