The core business of Sandwell Young Peoples Services (Youth Service Residential Education Centres, Healthy Schools and Decca) reflects national and local policies and plans. The Select Committee on Young People"Things for Young People to Do" was established in June 2004, and ran over two years until March 2006. An interim report was produced after the first year agreed by Sandwell MBC in July 2005. The final report was produced in 2006 and agreed by Council in April 2006 can be accessed below.

Youth Work CurriculumThe Youth Work Curriculum document sets a broad framework of informal learning which young people and partner organisations can expect Sandwell Youth Service to deliver. The document describes key standards for youth provision and gives core examples of core curriculum areas.
Joint Area Review - Review of Services for Children & Young People
This joint area review was conducted under the requirements of Section 20 of the Children Act 2004. The review was carried out by a multi-disciplinary team of ten inspectors from the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI), the Healthcare Commission (CHAI), the Audit Commission, and the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI). The review was undertaken according to the requirements of the Framework for the Inspection of Children's Services.
Sandwell Youth Service Report
Sandwell youth service delivers youth work through a series of projects and activities based at 16 community centres, 4 schools and in 4 specialist centres. It extends its provision through neighbourhood projects in partnership with other providers including the voluntary sector, schools and the Connexions service.
