Youth Clubs

Sandwell MBC Youth Service delivers youth work through projects and activities based in 16 community centres, 4 schools and in 4 specialist centres. Youth clubs are open to all young people between 11 and 25 years old.

Being part of a youth club gives young people access to new experiences including music, arts, sports, dance, bike mechanics and outdoor pursuits and a chance to talk and learn about issues that young people want to talk about eg. sexual health, drugs

In Sandwell MBC Youth Service works with young people to plan activities they they want to do.  Attending a youth provision means you have a place to meet with friends and friendly youth workers.  Young people have an opportunity to have the skills and knoweldge they developed recoginised and rewarded by accreditation.

At Coneygre Arts Centre you can learn to do street dance, circus skills, or learn how to produce and record your own music.

Some of these activities are free, some may have a small cost.


Malthouse Outdoor Pursuits Centre has activities including mountain biking, archery, canoeing, raft building, team building games and climbing, catering for varying group sizes (minimum 6). The centre also provides activities with an emphasis on environmental issues.

Malthouse Outdoor Pursuits Centre has a wide range of equipment and clothing for expeditions, this allows access for all young people to the challenge of the outdoors without having to worry about the expense of such equipment.

You can also gain the Adventure Service Challenge award (ASC) aged 11 - 14 and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, a personal programme of challenging activities available to anyone aged 14 - 25.

Drugs

DECCA is Sandwell’s young peoples drug service. They provide drug, alcohol and tobacco education for children and young people and adults who work with them, you can contact them via the link below.

Sexual Health Information

The Young People Welcome scheme is  run by the Teenage Pregnancy Team to offer young people under the age of 25 a confidential and supportive contraceptive and sexual health service. The local clinic's are committed to improving the services for young people and have signed up to Sandwell's Young People's Charter Award.

Sports

Want to find out where your nearest Leisure Centre is? Want to go a Holiday Camp want to try Junior Fitness for 14-17 year olds Swim Fun Sessions, Swimming Lessons, Junior Lifesaving, Mini League Football and Tennis coaching.

Sandwell Leisure Trust offer specific tailored leisure and sporting activities for 5-17 year olds. It is never too young to get involved in sport. Leading an active life now will assist in later years with health and fitness related illnesses.

Advice and Support

Looking for someone to talk to about school, training or finding a job - Connexions is a support service for all young people aged 13-19 (up to 25 years old for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities).

Through Personal Advisers, Connexions offers information, advice and practical help on a range of issues, including education, employment, work-based learning, housing, health, transport, free time and money matters.

Each young person has access to a Personal Adviser (PA) through their school or college, Connexions centres, community centres and other agencies across the community. Through Personal Advisers, young people receive the support that they need, to suit their individual requirements and situation.

Connexions works with a range of local partners to deliver services to young people.
