Home Composting
At least 30% of your bin contents can be composted at home, reducing the amount you throw away and making a useful fertilizer for your garden.
Bags for Life
Taking your own bags shopping means that you can say no thanks to carrier bags at the til, reducing the amount you have to throw away. Look out for Sandwell Bags for Life at events attended by the Recycling Team. If you forget to take your own bag, there are many ways to reuse carrier bags.
Furniture and Household Appliances
Consider repairing faulty household appliances and furniture, rather than throwing them out, this will also save you having to buy new.
If you have appliances that are in good working order why not try to sell them or give them to someone who would be able to reuse them.
