Social Policy
Sandwell Council works in partnership with the NHS to improve the health of Sandwell people
Care needs
Adult and Community Services can arrange social care services to help with your care needs if you require support. To find out about how to get an assessment to find out if you can receive services, please go to accessing social care services.
Better care, higher standards in social care, health and housing
The Better Care, Higher Standards Charter is for everyone aged 18 or over who needs long-term support because of disability, old age or ill health, and for anyone who is a carer of someone in these circumstances. It sets out the standards that you can expect from Adult and Community Services, Sandwell Homes and the NHS Primary Care Trusts.
Income support, council tax and housing benefits

Welfare rights
There is also a welfare rights advice line to assist with these issues.
Direct Payments
Adult and Community Services can also arrange access for some people to direct payments so that they can arrange their own services.
