Think Local Construction is a unique service that helps match local people to vacancies within the construction industry.

What we do?

We help local construction companies to find the right labour for their sites and assist potential employees to find the right job.

We also assit Sandwell residents to find an employer to allow them to gain skills and complete an NVQ Level 2 or other recognised qualification.

How we do it?

We register local people onto our skills database giving them the opportunity to apply for the vacancies that we currently have available.

We advertise vacancies in local Job Centres – giving applicants the opportunity to apply for vacancies that match their skills and needs.

Every time a new vacancy is placed we will contact suitable applicants who have registered on the Think Local Construction database.

We visit construction companies to fully discuss their labour requirements and to identify the skills and experience that they need.

When advertising vacancies on behalf of companies we thoroughly pre-screen all applications to ensure that applicants fully meet they needs.

We offer advice and guidance to both employers and potential employees on how best to fill their vacancies or find a job as well as assisting both with their training requirements.

Every year Think Local Construction places over 200 skilled and semi-skilled tradespeople into employment as well as assisting more than 80 young people into work based training.

We ensure that all those who are on site are mentored to ensure they achieve the qualifications of their choice.
