Annual Events

 

Sandwell Council organises annual events that are attended by thousands of people from the local community and all over the country.

To celebrate St. George’s Day we have an exciting , fun packed party. Entrance is free and includes a Parade (involving various bands and organisations), organised by Stone Cross St. George’s Day Association followed by a Family Fun Day in Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich.

The Historic Vehicle Show is for all vintage car enthusiasts and boasts an impressive display of a wide range of vehicles spanning many decades. The show also includes a Collectors' Toy Fair, Craft Fair, Autojumble, Market, Tradestands, the ever-popular Pat Collins Fun Fair and much, much more plus - entrance to the show is free.

The Sandwell Show is held over the August Bank Holiday and is said to be the biggest free council organised show in the country. We have a horticultural marquee where the most spectacular vegetables in Sandwell are judged, as well as a Craft Fair, Circus, Sports Marquee, Fun Fair, Arena Acts and lots of fun, fun, fun.

Our Bonfire and Firework display at Dartmouth Park in West Bromwich includes a 15-minute gentle Children's display which is followed by the main 30 minute display.

Our Annual Carol Concert follows a tradition which began in 1889. People gather every year in the charming setting of West Bromwich Town Hall to sing familiar and wonderful carols in anticipation of Christmas.
