Sandwell Library and Information Service is committed in providing adequate, suitable and accessible library and information services to all our existing and potential users from the culturally diverse communities of Sandwell.

Services for Minority Ethnic communities is an essential part of our regular activity and we ensure that:
  • All service developments fully reflect the cultural diversity of Sandwell
  • We link services to individual community development
  • We fully reflect the cultural diversity in service provision and promotion
  • Increase awareness of other cultures
  • Provide efficient, effective and inclusive library services

Services

Book stocks in the following community languages are provided:
Arabic, Bengali, Gujerati, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu are also provided along with relevant minority interest newspapers:

Cultural Information displays on Black History, Eid, Ramadan, Diwali, and Vaisakhi are initiated and rotated to various libraries.
