History of Haden Hill House

 George Alfred Haden Haden Best was the last in a long line of Hadens who could trace their history back to Norman times. The family had lived in the area since the 11th century, when ancestor Ricardo atte Haudene built a house.

Haden Hall

 The Haden estate had been in the Haden family since medieval times and Haden Old Hall, was built from the late sixteenth century onwards and has had sections added to and taken away over the years.

Events and Activities

 The House hosts a variety of events, exhibitions and school holiday activities as well as a lively schools programme. We also have a range of temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

School Visits and Resources

 Talks, tours and Victorian handling collections are available for a small charge, and we run second world war "Home Front in Sandwell" sessions and Victorian "Living History" sessions for schools.
