Oak House

 

Oak House in West Bromwich is a delightful half timbered yeoman's house built around 1590.

Visiting Oak House

 Oak House is furnished with Tudor and Jacobean furniture and has some extremely fine 17th century wall panelling. You will also find an array of replica items which really make the house come alive.

History of Oak House

 Oak House dates back to the 16th century, with brick extensions from the mid 17th century. It is one of the finest timber framed buildings in the Midlands, and is a remarkable survival in a region transformed by industry in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Events and Activities

 Oak House hosts a variety of events and exhibitions throughout the year for all the family to enjoy. We have school holiday activities as well as a lively schools programme.

School Visits and Resources

 Oak House offers a lively and comprehensive education programme based around the Tudors. Activities include Guided Tours, Tudor Living History for Key Stage 2, Tudor Time Travelling for Key Stage 1 and Tours or Tours with Workshops (Tudor toys and games or Tudor textiles).
