The Oak House is located on the corner of Oak Road and Cambridge Street just a short distance from West Bromwich High Street and Lodge Road Metro station. There is a public car park at the bottom of Oak Road about a five minute walk away or parking is available on the road near to the house. Parking on site for disabled visitors is available.

There is currently no disabled access to the first floor. Please note that as our toilets are being upgraded there will be not disabled toilet facilities - please ring the house to check when these will be available again. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Guide dogs are welcomed.

Opening Times

Oak House is open throughout the year except January:

Please note that we often have school parties in the mornings during term time weekdays which restricts access to the building. Also if you are bringing a group to the museum we ask you to ring first to check there is nothing else going on as the size of the building may affect your visit.

Please note the museum is closed for lunch weekdays from 1.00pm - 1.30pm.

• Thursday: 10.00am - 5.00pm
• Friday: 10.00am - 5.00pm

April to September

• Sunday: 2.00pm - 5.00pm

Last admission to the museum is 4.30pm

Entrance to Oak House is usually free, but there is sometimes a small charge for special events and activities.

Souvenirs

Visit our small souvenir shop on the first floor, where there are a wide range of items including greetings cards, local history publications, gifts and toys. Just ask a member of staff to open the shop with no obligation to make a purchase.

Please note that for most special events we employ a catering service for drinks and snacks etc.
