Welcome to the Park
Haden Hill is a Welcoming Park with a range of improvements for 2010. The park is the proud holder of national Green Flag award
Haden Hill Estate is unique in the borough of Sandwell, in that it is one of the oldest landscapes surrounding Haden Hall and Haden Hill House, of historic importance to the West Midlands.
There is ample car parking on the public car parks – one adjacent to the children’s play area, one to the north of Haden Hill House and one close to Corngreaves Hall at the southern end of the park.
To further the relationship between the Council, the local community and Haden Hill Park, Sandwell MBC has: -
- Established an Haden Hill Estate Task Group in 2003 consisting of service providers elected members and community representatives .
- Worked in partnership with the Friends and user groups to deliver improvements in the park.
Signage
On arrival at the park there are new signs welcoming visitors to Haden Hill. Inside Haden House there are detailed maps giving the location of the facilities. Further educational information is then provided by smaller notice boards around the park detailing its history installed in January 2004. At Haden House reception there are details of park history and forthcoming events, and there are leaflet racks providing additional information on the park.
The Sandwell Leisure and Cultural Strategy provides the foundations for engendering a welcome for visitors and users to Haden Hill and other parks in the borough.
On of the strategy actions identified within the Action Plan sets out to provide health on prescription healthy walking around Haden Hill Park and other key parks.
