The Milk Bar
After it leaves the cows, the milk from Forge Mill Farm is stored in the bulk tank where is kept cool by water circulating around the outside of the bulk tank.
Every second morning, the bulk tanker arrives to take the milk on the first stage of its journey to the creamery, where it will be turned in to butter or cheese.
The tanker driver takes a sample of the milk, so that the milk can be tested for quality before it is pumped into larger tanks where it mixes with the milk from other farms.
Once a sample has been taken, the milk is transferred to the tanker, where the amount is measured and a receipt printed off, so that the total amount produced can be recorded.
