On Your Bike
If you're looking for somewhere to go for a family bike ride, Sandwell Valley has good access and car parks, so you can unload the bikes and ride for miles, or simply ride from home if you're close enough.
Part of the national cycling network, SUSTRANS (Sustainable transport system) route (NCN5) runs through the Valley providing an ideal route for families with young children to ride on surfaced tracks through pleasant surroundings.
If it's action you're after, there's a mountain bike route which takes you over unsurfaced tracks and has a winding, hilly section with steep climbs and descents at the rear of Swan Pool. Cycling in Sandwell promotes cycling throughout Sandwell and has regular monthly family cycle rides which start in Dartmouth Park.
