Walking In Sandwell Valley

Finding somewhere for a quiet walk is easy in Sandwell Valley, whether you are a keen rambler, or just want to go for a walk with the dog or family, with 2,000 acres to walk round, you can go for a quiet stroll in pleasant surroundings through woods, farmland and by beautiful lakes.

Walking in the country park If you are a keen walker and want to walk farther, you can walk from Sandwell Park Farm car park to Cannock Chase on the Beacon Way, which follows paths and canal towpaths up to Gentleshaw common, where it joins the Heart of England Way.

Many of our visitors walk in the opposite direction, ending their walk in the pleasant surroundings of our tearooms to sample one of the hundreds of breakfasts the staff cook every week, or one of the home made cakes made on site.

Whether you're a casual walker or a dedicated rambler, Sandwell Valley has plenty to offer, especially for families with young children, who want to avoid traffic. If you are looking for someone to go walking with, try Sandwell Ramblers.

Health Walks are held regularly in Sandwell Valley which are run by trained leaders. For details ring 0121 553 0220
