Weekly Events

Volunteering

The Country Park has a great deal of wildlife, much of which can be found in the three Local Nature Reserves. A group of volunteers work with the Countryside Rangers, protecting and enhancing many of the natural habitats.

You don’t need any experience and you’re very welcome to turn up and give it a go! Our volunteers thoroughly enjoy spending a few hours each week in the outdoors and making a difference for the benefit of people and wildlife.

They meet twice a week for about three hours from 10.00am until 1.00pm on Mondays and Wednesday, stopping for tea, coffee and biscuits halfway through the session. Work takes place throughout the Country Park and at other Local Nature Reserves in the Sandwell borough.

Call 0121 553 0220 for further information.

Walking

If you enjoy walking in the countryside and like to meet new people, then our free weekly health walks are for you. Lasting for about an hour, they take in some of the Country Park’s best countryside. With a designated leader at the front and the rear of the group, you’re free to walk at your own pace.

Many of the paths are surfaced, but we do recommend strong footwear for some of the unsurfaced paths.
