RoSPA
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) have awarded Sandwell Leisure Trust (SLT) the Gold standard in their Occupational Health and Safety Awards.
Sandwell Leisure Trust were one of the first UK Leisure Trusts to receive this prestigious health and safety award and continue to maintain this achievement year on year.
Investors in People
The Investors in People Standard is a proven business improvement framework designed to improve an organisation's performance through the development of its people.
Quest
QUEST accreditation defines industry standards in Facility Operations, Staffing, Customer Service, Service Development and Review as recommended by the British Quality Foundation. QUEST is a Nationally recognised quality standard designed by the leisure industry for the leisure industry. Accredited facilities can also benchmark with other operators nationally.
The following facilities have received QUEST accreditation, several with highly commended scores. Maintaining this award demonstrates the trusts commitment towards continuos improvement.
Tipton Swimming Centre, Hadley Stadium, Tipton Sports Academy, Langley Swimming Centre, Harry Mitchell Leisure Centre, Haden Hill Leisure Centre, Smethwick Swimming Centre, Wednesbury Leisure Centre and Sports Development.
Sporting Equals
The Promoting Racial Equality Through Sport Standard.
Preliminary level - Sandwell Leisure Trust has demonstrated its commitment to understanding and addressing the issues and barriers that perpetuate racial inequality. This commitment and understanding has been communicated to all staff and communities.
Young People's Charter Award
The Young People's Charter is a unique and pioneering initiative that is being delivered by Sandwell Council's Youth Strategy Team. It is committed to involving and encouraging the voices of young people in Sandwell.
National Aquatic Rescue Standard (NARS)
Registered Centre status by the STA (Swimming Teachers Association). This is in recognition of the quality and high standard of professional STA courses delivered by Sandwell Leisure Trust.
Business Environmental Charter
The Charter is a Black Country scheme, promoted through BISNES. It provides an opportunity for businesses to make a commitment to environmental improvement. The following sites have received Silver status - Hadley Stadium; Haden Hill LC; Tipton Swimming Centre; Harry Mitchell LC; and Wednesbury LC and Tipton Sports Academy has achieved Bronze status.
APSE Annual Service Awards 2008 - Best Healthy Living Initiative
APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) is a not for profit local government body working with over 300 councils throughout the UK. Promoting excellence in public services, APSE is the foremost specialist in local authority front line services, hosting a network for front line service providers in areas such as waste and refuse collection, parks and environmental services, leisure, school meals, cleaning, housing and building maintenance.
Improved performance for Cultural Services
Sandwell Leisure Trust are delighted in helping Cultural Services as a whole improve to a three Star rated service in the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) of Sandwell Council conducted by the Audit Commission. This means it is "performing well".
