Health and Fitness
We provide a wide range of health and fitness opportunities in Sandwell, offering 115 varied fitness classes and 10 gym facilities across Cradley Heath, Oldbury, Langley, Smethwick, Tipton and Wednesbury.
click here for our latest fitness class & gym Timetable. Our range of sessions is wide and varied from traditional aerobics, step, aqua fit or bums, legs and tums to newer fitness experiences such as box-a-cise, cardio combat, X-biking, fitness hula and bollywood aerobics.
We also offer Junior Fitness tactivities argeting Young People from 14yrs.
Quality Assured Exercise & Fitness Instructors
We take pride in the quality of the Exercise and Fitness Instructors who work at our gyms and lead our fitness classes. We recognise the importance of having knowledgeable, motivated and well trained staff, whose goals are to deliver quality exercise and fitness to our customers and to ensure that standards are developed and maintained.
Gyms
We have 10 gym facilities spread over 7 of our centres. These range from state-of-the-art fitness suites to traditional free weights rooms. Harry Mitchell LC and Oldury LC have women only gyms, whilst Haden Hill LC boasts our interactive i-gym facility.
Haden Hill LC, Smethwick LC and Wednesbury LC's gyms are fully staffed by qualified Instructors who offer inductions, personal fitness programmes and also deliver the GP Exercise Referral Scheme which is run in partnership with Sandwell NHS.
Latest News
Gyms
December 2008 saw £76,000 invested in upgrading equipment at Wednesbury LC. The new kit includes cardio equipment with integrated TV screens. Trixster virtual reality mountain bikes have also been installed at Smethwick LC, Haden Hill LC and Wednesbury LC.
Fitness Classes
New for January 2009 is Bollywood aerobics, an exotic Bollywood themed aerobics class that combines this popular Indian dance with added elements of belly dancing, Bhangra and Latin moves. The vitual reality group X-biking also started at Haden Hill Leisure Centre, whilst Hadley Stadium has begun cycle-fit sessions.
Working in the Community for the Community
We actively seek to develop and deliver health and fitness initiatives within the local community. We aim to encourage groups who would not normally participate in quality health and fitness opportunities to do so and in the process, increase their health, fitness and well being.
Developing Partnership Links for the Future
We are available for consultation, to any agency or group who need help or advice in the professional delivery of health and fitness.
We seek to make partnerships with any group who has an interest in improving the health, fitness and well being of their clients.
