Tennis in Sandwell

Sandwell has one of the best public indoor tennis centres in the country, which is based at Tipton sports academy. The centre has 6 indoor cushioned acrylic and 6 outdoor acrylic tennis courts, which have floodlights. There is also a kid’s zone mini tennis area and a knock up wall. 

Activities available at the centre include:

• Pay and play
• Junior tennis coaching
  • mini tennis (children aged 4-11)
  • Teens Bronze, Silver & Gold Squads (children aged 10-18)
  • Performance squads
• ‘Schools out’ fun tennis sessions for primary & secondary children
• Adult coffee mornings and 50+ mix in sessions
• Adult coaching groups
• Community tennis sessions
• Individual tennis lessons (book with coach)

We also link with many schools within Sandwell as part of our outreach programme. This involves sending coaches into schools to run tennis sessions within curriculum time and at after school clubs.
Children are then encouraged to continue to participate in tennis by joining our programme at Tipton Sports Academy.

Sandwell has a strong team of tennis coaches, led by our Head Tennis Coach Ron Allan. All of the coaches are professionally qualified through the LTA and hold a full LTA coach licence.

Discounts on tennis court bookings and programme activities

Leisure pass members can make a saving on tennis court hire, group coaching and social sessions.

All grades of Leisure Pass entitle you to seven days of advanced court booking, and a 10% saving on court costs and other tennis activities.
