Sandwell Leisure Trust are linking in with the Swimfit initiative. Swimfit is a joint venture between the official partners the Amateur Swimming Association, British Gas and Speedo. It is a fantastic way to exercise the whole body and offers advice and fun programmes to help structure your time in the pool - whether you're looking to keep healthy, shape & tone up, improve your fitness or get competitive.

Free Swimming April 2009

From 1st April 2009 free public swimming will be available for those aged 16 and under and 60+. This is a Government Initiative to help increase participation that subject to funding will initially run until March 2011. To obtain your free swimming pass visit your nearest Sandwell Leisure Trust swimming centre with relevant ID.

Free public swimming for those aged 16 and under and 60+ will be available at Langley Swimming Centre, Smethwick Swimming Centre, Wednesbury Leisure Centre, Tipton Swimming Centre and Haden Hill Leisure Centre. Please note this initiative does not include swimming lessons, aquafit, fun sessions or targeted sessions.

Aquatic activities are well served in Sandwell - you can swim in complete safety seven days a week, or learn to swim at the borough's swimming pools under the watchful eye of qualified lifeguards. Lockers are available at a cost of 20p or 10p (non-refundable).

We offer a quality swimming instruction programme to suit all levels, from non-swimmer, beginner, improver or advanced with fully qualified swimming instructors who can provide the right course for you.

Discounts on Swimwell Instruction Programme!

Leisure Pass members can save on swimming lessons. (Children aged between 8-17 years must have individual or family membership).

• Concessionary Leisure Pass individual & family members get ½ price discount.
• Standard individual / family members save 15% off the cost of either their or their 1st child course, 25% 2nd child, 35% 3rd child, 45% 4th child. (Children aged between 8-17 years must have individual or family membership).
• Leisure Pass Gold individual members save 15%.

The more adventurous can be underwater explorers, take life-saving exams, or join in water polo or scuba diving clubs. We also have many swimming clubs for those who want to develop in competitive swimming contact your local Leisure Centres for more details.
