Spend an afternoon at the Galton Valley Canal Visitor Centre in Smethwick and learn more about how the canals of the Industrial Revolution left Sandwell with its proud and rich industrial heritage or get a real taste of the countryside at the Sandwell Valley with over 2000 acres of woodland and parkland with wildfowl lakes within one mile of the West Bromwich Town Centre.

Events and festivals in Sandwell are a real celebration of culture and community pride and all are welcome. There is much to choose from including the Sandwell Show encompassing an annual Horticultural and Midland Leek Show complete with thrilling fun fair which is always a favourite, and for all you vintage car enthusiasts the Historical Vehicle Show is a must-see. A wealth of family focussed events are on offer throughout the year with the St. George’s Day Parade and Family Fun Day and the Bonfire and Firework Festival to name but a few.
