Policing and Public Safety

The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 placed a statutory responsibility on both the Police and Local Authorities to plan and co-ordinate crime and disorder reduction work in their local area. In Sandwell the Police and Council work together with over 40 other organisations in the Safer Sandwell Partnership to undertake this work.

Making Sandwell Safer

Sandwell Council plays a major role in the fight against crime and anti-social behaviour, helping to make Sandwell a better and safer place.

The Safer Sandwell Partnership has been created to ensure all the relevant agencies work together to achieve safer, cleaner, active communities across Sandwell.

Working together, we are Making Sandwell Safer.

Accidents and Emergencies

Sandwell Council deals with major emergencies and produces plans in preparation for any major emergency that may occur.

Emergency Planning creates plans for known risks throughout the Borough by working with the local community and partner agencies.
