Terms and Conditions of Orders

The Youth Court may sentence you to one of a variety of Orders.

You will then be under the supervision of the Youth Offending Team. You will be required to:
  • Attend all appointments
  • Make positive changes to your lifestyle to help you stay out of trouble
  • Make amends for your offending.

If you do not keep your appointments, you will be in breach of your Order and will have to go back to Court. Furthermore, failure to comply with any Court Orders will result in your case being referred back to Court. This may result in re-sentencing for your original offence, as well as for the additional 'breach' offence.

Breach Proceedings can be taken at any stage of the Order (regardless of the length of time it has run) and without prior warning if the failure to comply is serious, such as an attempt to avoid its completion or serious misconduct.

If the Court considers that you have 'breached' your Order, it may:

  • Revoke the Order and pass another sentence, which could include custody.
  • Tell you to complete the Order, but punish you by imposing either a fine of up to £1,000, an Attendance Centre Order or Curfew Order.
