Domestic Violence
Are you experiencing Domestic Abuse?
Ring the 24 hour helpline 0845 359 7525
Domestic Violence happens everywhere, including Sandwell – mostly it happens to women (90%). Every week, 2 women are killed by their partner or ex-partner. In 90% of cases, children are will be either in the room or next door when violence occurs, often deeply affecting their lives too.
It happens to 1 in 4 women during their life but most of it is not reported to anyone and so can go on for 7 years or 35 beatings before it is reported.
You do not have to put up with it, there are people here to help you – often 24 hours per day, locally or nationally. You can get advice, help with moving out to a place of safety, or can talk through your situation.
