Permission is required from the Council if you need to drop the kerb outside your property to make a driveway. if the property is rented (e.g from the Council, a Housing Association or Private Landlord), their permission to take a vehicle into the garden will also be required.

If requested, and upon receipt of a payment of £125.00 (of which £75.00 would be refunded to you if you are refused a footway crossing or if you decide not to proceed any further). An officer will visit the site and you will be sent a letter explaining if it is acceptable for you to construct a crossing and any conditions attached to such an approval.
