Sandwell lies in the heart of the West Midlands, in an area of the UK known as "The Black Country". There are six main towns which make up Sandwell; Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Tipton, Wednesbury and West Bromwich.
Historic Vehicle Show
Change of venue, the show is now at Dartmouth Park.
On Sunday 11th May Sandwell Council is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Sandwell Historic Vehicle Show.
Show organisers are delighted to welcome the famous DeLorean car, which sent Marty McFly Back to the Future in the famous 1980 film.
With a line up of 600 vehicles dating back to the 1920's, an Arena, Stage, Toy Fair and Craft Fair the event will cater for all ages.
Compost Awareness Week
Sandwell residents who order a compost bin during Compost Awareness Week 4th - 10th May will be entered into a prize draw to win £50 worth of garden vouchers.
Find out more about home composting by meeting the Recycling Team at the Tesco store, Burnt Tree Island on Friday 9th May between 11am and 4pm.
Local Elections 2008
The results for this year's Local Elections that took place on 1st May 2008 are now available.
The Election results provide the winning candidate for each ward, information on the new political make up of the council as a well as a breakdown of the number of votes.

Your big guide to Sandwell council services' is on its way. Every home in Sandwell will be receiving the guide - which will be packed with an A to Z of useful information to help you get the most out of council services.
Look out for the guide, which will be dropping through letter boxes in May.
