Contact the council
Our Customer Services Team deals with enquiries received over the phone, through the post, face to face, via email and over the web. We have you, the customer at the heart of everything we do and aim to make each contact with us a positive experience.
Councillors and elections
Sandwell Council is run by elected councillors who are voted for by local people. Councillors are responsible for making decisions on behalf of the community about local services, for example rubbish collection and leisure facilities, and agreeing budgets and Council Tax charges.
Council tax
Council tax applies to all residential properties regardless of whether they are rented or owned. The amount you have to pay depends on which valuation band your home is placed in. We are responsible for collecting the Council Tax you pay and this goes towards the local services we provide.
Complaints and feedback
We aim to provide services of a high standard to everybody in the community, but from time to time things can go wrong. When this happens we want to hear from you so that we can sort it out. We welcome and value all comments (whether positive or negative) regarding our services.
Emergencies
Sometimes emergencies and disasters occur that can have various effects on our society and the environment in which we live and work. Sandwell Council has a specific unit that deals with major emergencies and produces plans in preparation for any major emergency that may occur.
Council finance
We have sound financial management policies in place that we strictly adhere to, to enable us conduct our business efficiently. We publish our Financial Statements of Accounts and The Budget Book which contains details of the budget for the year.
